Naphtha Tears (2022)

Experimental short film, 15’05” (English)

Watch

Three avatars embark on a quest through simulated, oil-drenched landscapes, in search of a girl whose body is scattered across the glittering surfaces of late capitalism: a zone where ghostly paparazzi flashes, celebrity-saints, and subterranean histories of fossil fuels coagulate.

The Middernachtmelktapes
(The Midnight Milk Tapes) (2024)

Digital mixtape with audiovisual werk, poetry & music (English & Dutch)

Collaboration with Wolfgang Blauwblomme

Order

The Middernachtmelktapes were first conceived in 2014: a poetic, audiovisual mixtape on a USB-stick. Left unfinished for ten years, it now finally emerges into a very different world. The Tapes themselves have morphed into both a time capsule and a media archive, containing work made and collected over a decade. They include our own work and contributions by guest artists, original and found materials, from artistic creations to intimate personal fragments: poems and spoken word recordings, music and digital collages, video works and 3D art, unreleased side projects and remnants of novels that were never finished, ancient files scraped from hard drives. With its Choose Your Own Adventure folder structure, inviting you to navigate your own way through these files and fragments, it resembles a dream of what the internet could have been: a space of unexpected, haphazard discoveries, far from the predictability of our algorithmic feeds.

The Middernachtmelktapes: installation (2025)

Interactive installation with audiovisual & digital media (English & Dutch)

Collaboration with Wolfgang Blauwblomme & Sebastien Dessauvage (Zer0 Rei)

In 2025 we presented the Middernachtmelktapes as an installation piece, in three different contexts.

04/04/2025 Kunsthal Ghent
16/10—02-11/2025 Wonder Festival, Kortrijk (Quindo)
04/12/2025 Winter Circus Ghent (Museum Night)

A witches’ knot of voices (2023)

Interactive audio work, also existing as a website (Dutch & English)

Commissioned for the 10th Contour Biennale for Moving Images (Mechelen, 09/09—05/11/2023)

Exhibited at De Garage (Space for Contemporary Art, now Kunsthal Mechelen)

This interactive audio work evokes possible futures and alternative worlds. In a collective reading and writing session with members of the public, we probed for speculative narratives and fantasies, for possible imaginings of the near future. What might tomorrow look like in our wildest dreams? Can we, through imagination, stretch the horizon of what we consider possible, realistic, or conceivable? Can we speak other ways of living together into reality? And what forms does that imagination take when we shape it collectively, in a conversation between strangers?
I then edited the audio recordings of this session into a composition in which different voices intertwine, interrupt, and intersect with each other. A polyphonic fabric that in turn generates new meanings and resonances. A witches’ knot of voices, revealing and giving substance to hidden desires.
Listeners were free to find their own way through these fragments, voices, and compositions. As they navigated their way through the sonic labyrinth, it was up to them to construct their own narrative and shape their own paths to potential futures.

Garden of Delights (2022)

Collective and group exhibition

With Garden of Delights, een collective of 13 artists reflecting on the hidden power dynamics and structures underlying invisible and undervalued labour, we organised the group exhibition Hard Work, Gentle Labour, in February 2022 at Kunsthal Ghent. Alongside the exhibition of visual art and installations, we also created a programme with performances, workshops, rituals, and lectures, and a collective publication. Aside from organisational work, I presented a video piece, organised a workshop on collective writing, and staged a ritual performance invoking goddesses and the plant ghosts haunting fossil fuels.

Other works (2017-2019)

I am a soft house for dead things (animated short, 4’49”, 2017, English)

An animated video about an earthworm, reflecting on the relationship between the human and the non-human. Earthworms are essential to our survival (without their burrowing in the earth, the soil would become infertile), and we share 80% of our DNA with them. Yet their appearance, way of life and consciousness are utterly alien and incomprehensible to us. This work, which follows the journey of an earthworm through a surreal and dreamlike world, explores the unheimlich intimacy and absurdity inherent in our relations to the non-human entities we are entangled with.
